See the Kaaba in real-time
3D Augmented Reality.
Point your iPhone camera in any room, hotel, or airport terminal. Noor overlays a luminous 3D holographic beacon pointing straight to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah with distance down to the kilometer.
3D Augmented Reality Camera Mode
Elevate your prayer preparation into an immersive experience. Simply raise your iPhone to eye level: Noor initiates a low-latency AR camera viewport and renders a floating Kaaba compass needle in 3D spatial orientation. When your device aligns with Makkah, the screen pulses with a haptic confirmation.
Classic 2D Precision Gyro Compass
Prefer placing your phone flat on the floor or a prayer mat? Noor shifts smoothly to a high-precision 2D compass dial featuring smooth inertial damping, degree azimuth readout, and cardinal directions.
Triple-Sensor Fusion for Zero-Jitter Alignment
Standard compass apps jitter erratically due to magnetic micro-fluctuations. Noor implements an advanced sensor fusion algorithm that synthesizes data streams from three distinct iPhone hardware components:
The Great-Circle Forward Azimuth Equation
Noor calculates the bearing angle θ from your latitude and longitude (φ₁, λ₁) to the Kaaba coordinates (φ₂ = 21.4225° N, λ₂ = 39.8262° E) using spherical trigonometry:
θ = atan2(sin(Δλ) · cos(φ₂), cos(φ₁) · sin(φ₂) − sin(φ₁) · cos(φ₂) · cos(Δλ))Questions about Noor 3D AR Qibla
How does the 3D Augmented Reality Qibla work in Noor?
Noor utilizes your iPhone’s camera combined with Apple’s CoreMotion and CoreLocation sensor APIs. It computes the Great-Circle azimuth vector towards the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E) and renders a 3D visual beacon directly onto the camera view in real time.
Does the Qibla compass work without cellular or Wi-Fi data?
Yes. Once your GPS location coordinates are retrieved or manually chosen from our offline world city database, the great-circle spherical trigonometric calculation runs entirely offline on-device.
Why is True North important for Qibla calculation?
Magnetic North fluctuates depending on where you are on the globe due to Earth’s shifting geomagnetic field (magnetic declination). Noor uses the World Magnetic Model (WMM) to correct for declination, ensuring the compass points to True North and true Kaaba bearing.
What should I do if the compass shows magnetic interference?
Mobile magnetometers can be distorted by laptop chargers, metal desks, or magnetic iPhone cases. When Noor detects sensor inconsistency, it prompts a quick figure-8 calibration motion to recalibrate the magnetometer instantly.
